A Dire Situation

The band of refugees continued down the mountain, eventually they made it into the tall trees of the forested slopes.  It was near nightfall on the second day when once again the world turned upside-down.  The band was startled by a group of monstrous looking knights fleeing the onslaught of the largest beat Su Prim had ever seen.  It was hard to turn away from its large red eyes and mouth filled with sharp and terrible fangs.

Sup and the others fled with the strange knights to the edge of a river.  The water was cold and swift and full of boulders from the mountains.  And that is where Sup and his companions found themselves -- shoved by one of the knights.  The churning water did its best to drown them, as the roars of the dreadful beast faded into the distance.  "The wilds are a dark place filled with wonders and terrors", Su Prim thought as he hauled up on land -- half frozen and two-thirds dead.

A few freshly felled logs floated past the companions on the beach.  "That was some bear" said Sup.  "I believe it was a Dire-Bear" responded Herric.  "Ooh and what a river," Eryven groaned while rubbing his leg,  "A Dire-River" countered Jess.  The band chuckled for a moment.  Eventually, they were up and moving again -- towards the safety of the village in the valley.
